As at December 31, 2009
The Ok Tedi mine is located in the Star Mountains region of Papua New Guinea. We have an 18 percent interest in Ok Tedi Mining Limited, the owner of the mine. 52 percent of OTML is owned by PNG Sustainable Development Limited and the remaining 30 percent is owned by the Government of Papua New Guinea. Ok Tedi produces two main products: a gold rich copper concentrate, and gold recovered from the gravity circuit. The copper concentrate is shipped to several international smelters, largely by ocean going vessels.
In 2009, 64 percent of Ok Tedi’s revenue was from copper and 34 percent was from gold.
